Don't ever look back.

I woke up this morning in a state of utter confusion.  I can't seem to shake this illness, and I was awaken by a phone call at 8:30am - "hey, I know I told you that you couldn't interview for this job last month, but we changed our minds - still interested?"  Of course I'm not interested! So I started the day in frustration and anger, and I'm currently trying to turn that around.

Well, I'm off to SoHo this afternoon for Christmas shopping and yoga at my favorite studio in the entire world.  If you are in NYC and looking for an unbelievable yoga experience, head to Yoga Vida. Students pay $5 for a class, which is well-below the going rate at most yoga studios around here.

I'm sick today, but I still tried to get a few things done before the big Day comes up. I opened a new credit card (chase freedom, FTW), sent some Christmas cards, and now I'm attempting to brainstorm some more gifts.  Any ideas out there? :)

Also, I miss this little guy!

New York

I did enjoy this article about what makes a New Yorker.  Mulling over the idea of why and how people live in this city has always been very interesting to me.  Mostly with the intention of trying to understand why I go through the daily horrors of living here.  Here are a few quotes that I thought rang particularly true for me:

" ...[the] New Yorker doesn't give up, even if he or she is more than a bit mortified. Just as there's always someone smarter, richer, better-looking, or more successful in this town, there's also someone who has done something far more embarrassing. There's a certain comfort in that."

"Other places may give you a sweet and soothing sense of level; but in New York there is always the feeling of 'Something's going to happen.' It isn't peace. But, you know, you do get used to peace, and so quickly. And you never get used to New York."

If you live here, it's worth a read.
